Which
acoustic guitars are the best acoustic guitars depends greatly on the
person that is playing. There are many guitar manufacturers on the market,
each with their own feel and sound. If you were to ask ten different
guitar players which instruments are the best, you’d more than
likely get ten different answers.
There are several characteristics that are shared by many of the “best”
acoustic guitars. The wood used for the top of the guitar is often considered
the most important feature. Different woods have different qualities
that are reflected in the sound they produce. Koa, mahogany and rosewoods
are all common; but spruce is probably the most commonly used by most
manufacturers.
The style of playing often has a lot to do with finding the “best”
acoustic guitar. Some people (especially those with smaller fingers)
prefer having a shorter-scaled neck. There are also features, such as
the ability to plug into an amp if need be, that many people look for
when purchasing a new guitar.
