Ibanez Guitars

Ibanez GuitarsGuitars have changed music since they first originated, but their impact is the most noticeable with the debut of the electric guitar in 1932. Electric guitars brought on a revolution called rock and roll. The distinctive sound also changed the way rhythm and blues were played.

Before buying a guitar a musician should consider price, whether they want electric or acoustic, and what brand they would like. Steel stringed acoustic guitars are best for folk and blues, while nylon stringed acoustics are good for classical music. Electric guitars are ideal for rock, but beware that buying an electric guitar means buying an amplifier as well.

Price is a major hurdle for most new musicians. Top names like Gibson, Rickenbacker and Fender can reach prices into the thousand dollar range. Ibanez is a good brand name option that provides high quality instruments and affordable prices. (It should be noted that Dalymusic.com is not affiliated with Ibanez in any way.)

The well-known brand of Ibanez guitars has been around for over fifty years. The company began creating guitars in 1957 and is based in Japan. Ibanez is famous for their fun, flashy designs and some famous lead guitarists have their own designs released by the company.

In the 1970’s Ibanez made the out of reach designs by some of the more expensive brands obtainable by producing replicas of Gibson, Fender, and Rickenbacker. This of course brought about a series of lawsuits, resulting in the company producing their own designs. Ibanez is able to make quality guitars for a fraction of the price of the other top brands because of their superior mass-production facilities.

Ibanez is great for beginners. The guitars are affordable enough that if a new musician decides that they just aren’t into the hobby they aren’t out a thousand dollars. The flagship design of Ibanez is the Artcore model.

The Artcore is a hollow bodied electric guitar that is thin and wide but not very deep. It can be identified by the two “f” holes on the body, which give the guitar some resonance. It’s unique body shape and design has become popular among many musicians.

Ibanez acoustic guitars come in more than twelve different body styles. They make solid and hollow bodied electric guitars that come in six or seven string versions. Ibanez also makes bass guitars in four, five, or six strings.

Ibanez has been endorsed by several famous musicians, most notably Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Both guitarists have their own guitars designed by Ibanez. Paul Stanley of KISS also is known for playing an Ibanez, specifically the Iceman and Destroyer models.

Those looking for a good sound at a great price should definitely check out some Ibanez models. The JEM is a good model to start with as well as the revamped re-released Destroyer.

Every guitarist is different so it’s important to try several models before deciding which one works best. Different models will produce different sounds.

Learning to play the guitar can be challenging and having to shell out a bunch of money to get started may be enough to discourage those who aren’t so sure of their musical capabilities. A high quality, low cost Ibanez can bridge that gap and make learning the guitar a little easier to cope with.
